The Quaife ATB (Automatic Torque Biasing) limited-slip differential is easily interchangeable with the original stock open differential. It ensures maximum traction of all driven wheels in bends and on the flat, with minimal power loss. It is ideal for both road and racing purposes. It is suitable for both front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive or 4×4 cars. In particular, smooth running is noticeably noticeable in cars with a driven front axle and, unlike multi-plate limited-slip differentials, there is no unpleasant jerking of the steering wheel. The differential locks progressively according to increasing torque. It does not contain any clutch plates that could wear out, as is the case with competitive multi-plate limited-slip differentials. It is extremely strong and durable and, due to the use of a worm mechanism instead of plates, does not require any maintenance. ATB differentials are very effective, especially for front-wheel drive cars, in combating understeer and also self-steering during sharp acceleration. Quaife ATB differentials allow you to accelerate faster and drive through corners thanks to the constant transfer of power to all driven wheels. A conventional differential always drives the wheel that has less resistance (and therefore less adhesion). An ATB differential does the opposite and always transfers as much power as possible to the wheel with better adhesion, but at the same time transfers the corresponding power to the other wheel. When accelerating out of a corner, the Quaife differential transfers more power to the outer wheel, eliminating slippage of the inner wheel and thus allowing you to start accelerating earlier and exit the corner at a higher speed. When driving on slippery surfaces (mud, snow, ice), the Quaife differential ensures that both driven wheels are constantly turning. However, driving with a Quaife ATB differential is just as comfortable as with a conventional differential. The Quaife ATB differential offers maximum traction, improves handling and transfers power where it’s needed most.
